Using a breast pump is one of the options to increase breast milk. Once you drain your breast with the pump, your body starts to work again to produce more milk. The pump being manual or electric has no difference apart from ease of use. You can feed your breast milk to the baby in a bottle after pumping.
Hi Laxmi! At room temperature (24°c), you can keep BM for 5-6 hours. You can keep it in refrigerator for upto 6 days and if you freeze it, it can stay upto 6 months. There is no loss of nutrition if you maintain hygiene and use before the maximum time of storage. It is better to freeze the milk in ice trays so that you have small cubes that you can heat when needed as order your baby's requirement. Do not heat the frozen milk directly but use a double boiler method -thaw the milk cubes by taking out of freezer, heat water in a pan and then put the milk in the bottle and place the bottle in this heated water.
