It is good to give breastfeeding for 1 year of age.Breastmilk contains all types of nutrients required by the baby and it helps to build up immunity, also it is easily digested. If you don't have enough breast milk then you can use formula milk by consulting your paediatrition. Avoid cow's milk till 1 year of age. Offer him semisolid food at least 3 times a day along with breastfeeding. Offer fruits as snacks in between the meals.

Yes you can add water in between. Complementary feeding is very important at this age otherwise your baby will become underweight. And milk alone is now not sufficient. Give him one katori serving at a time of mashed roti, rice, bread with dal or undiluted milk, khichri with added ghee or oil. Add cooked vegetables in serving. Offer fruits as snacks between the meals. Offer food 3 times a day along with the milk .
The food should be well mashed, fresh, well cooked and easily deglutable. Start with 2 to 3 spoons at a time and gradually increase as your baby accept it. Don't give teething tablet. For the type of formula, consult your paediatrition.
