Try using medela nipple for your feeding bottles, just in case u r using bottles to feed your baby. Help him quench his hunger first and practice latching daily for some time . He will come along. Even my daughter had the same problem.
There are two problems I'm facing these days.
1: My baby is very weak. He has not enough energy to latch even when he try to.
2: I get milk in feeder by pressing my breast with my hands and it's very painful.
What's special with medela nipple?
Dear Farhat, it seems same as my story and I expressed almost for 3months until my baby gained enough weight to suck.
I would suggest don't push baby to suck if not ready as he will loose weight in sucking from mother.
You should opt for a manual or an electric breast pump to express milk. Also try to use a silicone nipple shield as it makes it easier for mother and the baby will get the feel of the bottle.
I tried manual breast pump but that was of no use as few drops of milk were got with that pump. I left trying any pump. I don't know any electric breast pump
You can try Madela. I have been using it for my daughter since she was 7 days 😃 It is good, efficient and very useful. Always pump before you try to nurse your baby directly. You can also use a hot water bag or take a warm shower before trying to pump. Have your baby close by when you pump, as the hormones go on an overdrive when your baby ( or any baby for that matter) is near you as the urge to feed him will be high. Another good time to pump is early morning after your body has had a decent rest. All the best!
Pratichi dear, thanks for your response.
I have searched in local market here but electric pump was too expensive for me to afford :(
I was thinking if someone has used it and of no further use for her maybe she can give the pump to me. Have you abandoned using your breast pump?
