At this age, if you feel that your baby has severe symptoms of a cough and cold it is necessary to visit with your daughter's paediatrician.
It is vital to measure your daughter's temperature. It should be between 97 - 100.3 degrees. Anything above this is considered a fever and you will have to check in with your daughter's paediatrician.
There are only a few remedies that you can try at home.
- You need to make sure that your house is cleaned and dusted properly. This can cause allergic reactions leading to your child having a cough and cold.
- If your baby's room is dry it is best to use a humidifier, as it is easier to breathe moist air for your baby.
- You need to feed your baby a lot of fluids. At this age, the best form is breast milk. This helps to clear congestion and promote easy passage of the phlegm.
At this age, there is not much that can be done and it is best to consult with your daughter's doctor. They will be able to identify the cause of the illness and will be able to suggest appropriate therapy.
