After 1 year of age, your daughter will be mostly consuming solid food and will have 400 - 500 ml of milk a day. You should also make her drink about 1 litre of water daily. Water helps with the smooth passage of stool and prevents constipation. You should ideally also give her a diet rich in fibre. This includes oats, beans, cereals and green leafy vegetables. This helps to increase the bulk of the stool and also helps with the passage of stool.
If your daughter passes stool every 1 or 2 days this is normal. If she doesn't pass stool for more than three days you need to consult with a paediatrician. Next, you will need to check if she passes any blood or mucus with her stools. This also needs to be checked out by a paediatrician.
