Your son can be given semisolid food by one year of age. There are many options to choose from including vegetables, fruits, oats, yoghurt and cereals. Make sure most of the food is steamed without much spice or oil. Give steamed carrots and cucumbers to your baby to eat on his own. At this age finding the right kinds of food can be difficult, but with patience, you can find the different kinds of food your son enjoys. Avoid too many sweets, candy and chips. These have no nutritive value and are not good for your child's growing teeth. Continue with milk, as this is important for his growing bones and teeth.
