Now that the vaccination is given there is no need to worry. Just watch out at the site of the injection and also if your child develops a high fever or any similar flu-like symptoms. If he is gaining weight and is active there is no cause for concern.
Thank you for d reply Dr. Pls advise if BCG vaccinated place should have swollen with pus? As nothing of that sort happened with my little one. My mom, aunties and many other ladies are asking if that place had pus in it.. m really worried.
There is no need for it to be swollen. In some children, it swells up a few months after the vaccination. Pus rarely occurs at a vaccination site. If it does occur, it requires immediate medical attention.
Meri beti ka bcg Mark nahi dekha raha hai...Kya aisa hota hai...3 day mein diya the bcg injections
If it has been only three days since the injection, then the mark won't be visible so soon. Wait for a while and observe.
Ok thanks doctor
Dr please tell me can bcg injected to the leg
BCG vaccine is usually given in the left arm. This is mainly because all the vaccines in the following few months are given in the thighs. After the vaccination is given in the arm, no other vaccines can be given for the next three months.
BCG is given in the first few hours to weeks after birth. Therefore ensure your baby has received the vaccine at the appropriate time.
Actually my baby drank white discharge before delivery so she was joined in the hospital for 6 days and during that 6 days doctor said that after 2 days (8th day from birth) u go to the bcg injection.(because she is week she will get fever so thatl...) so we came home and we went hospital after 15days of birth then doctor administrated vaccine to the thigh. But no mark was formed on the thigh. Thats y im asking can bcg injected to the thigh if so y mark is not formed please tell me
Firstly you will have to ask your paediatrician whether the vaccination given was indeed BCG and not any other vaccinations. The BCG blister doesn't necessarily come immediately. It may take 1 - 6 weeks to appear. Therefore there is nothing to be concerned about.
All the vaccines upto now are given to the thighs only doctor .we asked ur pediatrician whether he Given bcg are not he said yes. But i cant trust him because all the babies are with marks on their arms
Sometimes the marks don't appear immediately. A vaccination chart has to be filled as soon as any immunisation is given. Your doctor ideally gives you a copy of this to keep with you so that you can keep a track of all the vaccinations your child has received so far.
Hello Lakshmi,u r very much worried about BCG vaccination.dont be panic ,eventhough Ur kid is not vaccinated for BCG.bcz BCG will not protect your baby from lung tuberculosis it gives protection of tuberculosis other than lung tuberculosis.so keep Ur kid away from elders those who have cough and other open wound .often kids are diagnosed to have primary complex(lung TB).it doesn't mean those who vaccinated against TB (BCG)will be escaped from primary complex.bcg s given over left upper arm not in thigh.after 40days of BCG vaccination Ur kid will develop swelling or blister....if it doesn't develop then injection may go deeper not intradermal injection.in such case no need to repeat the vaccine.hope now u cleared with Ur queries.
Hi doc, my baby boy is going to be 4 month but his bcg vaccine has still not bubbled up in left arm. But I can see the mark on the injecteD place. Pls let me know till what time we should wait for it to come up or if the injection has to be repeated. Also let me know if bubbling up/Pus is compulsory
Not all the BCG vaccine spots swell up. Sometimes it can swell a later in the first year. There is no need to be concerned. Just ensure that the area is clean and if pus appears or it oozes you should consult with your paediatrician as it may require dressing.
My baby is four months old now but still bcg mark is not visible, it was given fourth day after her birth, what to do?
