5. Is High Body Temperature Before Period a Sign of Pregnancy?
During pregnancy, there is a rise in your basal body temperature (BBT). So, yes high basal body temperature before period is another early sign of pregnancy and is also the most accurate one.
Prior one to two weeks of ovulation, your basal body temperature may be around 97.2⁰F to 97.7°F which is an average BBT in the pre-ovulation state. After it, your BBT will increase from 0.4⁰ to 1°. It will decrease once your period gets completed.
But during pregnancy, the BBT remains raised. A woman’s basal body temperature will increase slightly, immediately after the egg has been fertilized.
