You need to take an active decision as to when you and your baby are ready, as this can take time and patience. - You need to start by reducing the number of breastfeeding sessions in a day. Start by the ones in the day, and finally, reduce it to just one feeding at night. - Your son will be taking more solid foods around this age. This includes oats, rice, cereals, fruits, vegetables, yoghurt and milk. - Start to increase the time in between feedings. This way when your son is hungry he might opt for any option available for milk. There is no need to worry if he misses any feeding, as by one year of age the number milk he requires reduces to about 500 ml. - Next, you need to make other members of the family also participate in feeding your son. This way your son will know that you are not always available for feeding. -You can also plan more activities for your son to participate in throughout the day. His mind will be preoccupied with the activities that he is indulging in. This will take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. You need to be patient and you will see changes.
