This is a very common problem, even my boy does the same as my wife has her bsy schedule with her job, I has to handle him sometimes, he never goes to anyone, but I had tried to change his habbit, frequently I started visiting people near by and I just leave him for a minute and then increased the time. Now I'm very much happy that he adjust with all my neighbors.

Sucking finger is that a sign to have solid fokd
Ask him whether do gave to his/her children at 3 months
Actually it is said that solid food can be feeded from 4 months onwards That is not advisable to any kid y because the digestive track is stillllll in developing stage only cant even digest the water also
