Handy Tips:

1. You can add mashed fruits like bananas, apples or chikoo (sapota) to enhance the taste and nutritional content of the dish.

Hey Sheetal. Avoid adding nuts to the recipe until your baby turns 1 year old. And as your baby is 7 months of age, I would recommend you to wait for one more month. And at the 8 month, you can introduce the pulses. Just make sure they are well soaked and soft. Would help the baby in digestion.

Which milk(cow milk or expressed mother milk) is used to boil and mix the cerlac? Can we boil breastmilk ?
I heard baby cannot digest cow milk before 1 year.

      Hi Sailaja,
Yes, Cow milk is difficult to digest for babies. Breastmilk can not be boiled. Formula Milk can be used. But no other milk except Breastmilk must be given before the child reaches 6 months of age. We encourage you to ask questions. If you have more questions, feel free to ask them.

      Happy Parenting 😀

Breast milk and formula milk both shouldn’t be boiled. I boil it with water and then mix formula to it.

You can mix this cerelac powder in formula milk. Avoid mixing the powder in breast milk as you cannot boil it. And yes, you heard it right. Cow milk is to be given only after the baby turns one year of age.
